Lanthanum Fluoride

Optical materials:

Prepare scintillators (such as medical imaging equipment), rare earth laser crystals, fluoride glass fibers, and infrared glass.

The emission peak of cerium doped lanthanum fluoride (LaF3) scintillator is 311 nm, with a decay time of 26.5 μ s, and it needs to be used in conjunction with quartz or UL% glass windows.

Industrial sector:

Manufacturing arc lamp carbon electrodes and fluoride ion selective electrodes.

Used in the metallurgical industry for the production of special alloys and electrolytic metal lanthanum.
